You are probably like me…wondering where all these years have gone! Sometimes I would just love to retreat back to good ole Mayfield Holler. Didn’t realize how good we had it there! A few years ago when I was back home, it just seemed time had stood still there! That I find very refreshing & would simply love to be back to that peaceful little holler! Guess I’m tired of living in a city of over a Million!!!

Was back home in June, I was drawn back to my own holler, “Scratch Ankle Holler”, that is. Yep it’s a for real place and is still there after being gone for 50 years. The old homestead is gone now but memories still linger.

Hey Ken, I’m so glad you got to go home for a visit! Would love to hear how your trip went.

Hi Sandy, had an opportunity to reacquaint with younger siblings whom I hadn’t seen in years but it was also a time of sadness – wished there had been more time.

Ken, How is your Mom doing?

          • Ken:

Hi Sandy, mom isn’t doing well, got a txt message from my Sis – mom was admitted to hospital after several tests were ran – we know that God will be with her and the rest of the family; for sure we need HIS touch.

Ken, I’m so sorry for the loss of your Mom. But I am so glad that you had a chance to make some fond memories with her before she passed. Will keep you & Judy in my prayers.

        Thanks Sandy.
With a saddness mixed with relief the family sorts through the unspoken, “wish-tahs”. Mom’s journey has moved to a lasting one now, :-) no longer hindered by the limitations of the physical life on this earth. I look forward to seeing her again, along with Judy’s mom. A week from today Judy & I will celebrate our 40th year of marriage and out of those 40 years our moms met briefly once for about 10 minutes or so.

Love ya Sis, you and Terry take care.
